Camera Angles and Movement - Tupac - Hit Em Up

Image
This is from a Tupac Shakur video called "Hit Em Up". The whole video is about disrespecting the East side of California as they were the rival gang, especially Biggie Smalls. This shot is a low shot looking up at Tupac. This show is used to demonstrate power and status amongst the other rappers and extras and to show he is the main man.   All eyes on him . Camera Angles and Movement - Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight

Image
This is a close up shot of the artist and singer, Phil Collins. This shot is used to show that he is the main focus of the video and that it is all about him, implying a lot of importance ti the video. The use of colour, or should I say none use of colour adds that extra bit of eeriness to the shot. Phil is represented as a very mysterious character in this video and may want to look somewhat "edgy" and has a feel of seriousness about him.  Phil Collins' In the Air Tonight  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkADj0TPrJA

Camera Angles and Movement - Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly

Image
This shot is of a plane flying over a large field. The angle is a low shot which then tracks the plane across the field and it going over the cameraman's head. This shot is used to add a sense of shock and possibly talent. The fact someone has stood there with a camera and allowed a plane to fly not over 20 feet above his head is very impressive and makes the video so much better and makes it look like there has been a lot of effort put into it. Camera Angles and Movement - Bruce Dickinson - Iron Maiden - The Number of The Beast

Image
This shot is of lead vocalist for renouned NWOBHM (new wave of British heavy metal) band, Iron Maiden. The song being recorded and filmed is The Number of The Beast, universally known in the metal scene. This shot is a fairly close up shot of him singing the opening verse as the shot has faded in and then established Bruce singing as the camera zooms in on his face quicker and quicker as the opening verse is sung. The shot is used to add a feel of importance to Bruce and the audience. The use of the green mist behind him also adds to the mysterious feel of the video therefore representing him as a very ominous and creepy character. Music Video Update

My music video will be posted tomorrow as i have to edit the last parts of it

Music Video Locations

The locations I have used for my music video where very varied and link into the piece of music I have included over the actual video. Croxteth Park : Croxteth park is very local to my area and is very large and full of greenery and gives off the feeling of outdoors and freedom due to its large fields. I utilized the outdoors. There are parts in the video where I will be walking in front of the camera singing whilst walking down confined and solitary paths to connote different emotions such as sadness and happiness. The shots that can be filmed and taken in the park are endless. I can shoot from up high in trees and down low in little passages and various other specks to film high shots to display power. West Derby Village: At night West Derby Village is a very quiet place so I utilized this because I had a lot of freedom to do as I please and not feel judged. I found this very peaceful and tranquil and very relaxed. My house : My house is a place where i feel comfortable a...

Song Ideas For Music Videos

Image
Potential songs for music video I like. Cemetery Gates – Pantera Ozzy Osbourne – Mama I’m coming home Purple Haze – Jimi Hendrix I love all three of these songs but my favourite one is Purple Haze is by far, combining both psychedelic lyrics with the hard rock of his original and bizarre (at that time) style of music. It has very drug related connotations as haze is a strain of marijuana which was huge at the time his music was being performed at big festivals like Woodstock in the sixties to protest against the war in Vietnam on an International scale. So Hendrix got very big and is hailed somewhat as a God or at least very well respected in todays “stoner” scene as a renounced cannabis smoker. LSD was also very big at the time he was performing and he was infamous for making a small incision in his head, placing a tab of LSD on the cut and tying a bandana around his forehead so the LSD would seep quicker into his brain and help his drug kick in quicker. LSD is a ...
