Music Video Locations

The locations I have used for my music video where very varied and link into the piece of music I have included over the actual video.

Croxteth Park :

Croxteth park is very local to my area and is very large and full of greenery and gives off the feeling of outdoors and freedom due to its large fields. I utilized the outdoors. There are parts in the video where I will be walking in front of the camera singing whilst walking down confined and solitary paths to connote different emotions such as sadness and happiness. The shots that can be filmed and taken in the park are endless. I can shoot from up high in trees and down low in little passages and various other specks to film high shots to display power.

West Derby Village:

At night West Derby Village is a very quiet place so I utilized this because I had a lot of freedom to do as I please and not feel judged. I found this very peaceful and tranquil and very relaxed.

My house :

My house is a place where i feel comfortable and connotes emotion into the music video on a personal level for me. My garden is used as I have a lot of space to do and film different shots.

Close Album Cover Analysis - Slayer - Repentless

This album cover is very close to me as the first concert I ever attended was a Slayer one on the "Repentless" tour in the September of 2015. There is so much to this album cover however it could be deemed as offensive to some older, old fashioned or more religious audiences due to the graphic nature of Jesus being grievously tortured. This is Slayers sixteenth studio album released on the eleventh of September 2015. Firstly I am going to talk about the huge circle with the swords cutting through it making a pentagram or satanic star in the background. This has been an on-going theme since their debut album back in 1983. This is sort of their logo just as Iron Maiden have Eddie the Head and Motorhead have Snaggletooth as I have stated in my earlier posts. However as technology has developed so has the appearance of Slayers albums, this is the first album where the star has been on fire and glowing orange and gold due to the flames, this suites the rest of the album...

Intertextuality - Drake

Intertextuality The definition of intertexuality is shaping a texts meaning to something else. In my own words I would say intertexuality means interpreting a text into something else. In this case I will be analysing the amount of intertexuality in music videos and see how they compare and contrast to other videos that possibly may have inspired them greatly or took great influences off. This may contain the audio and how the music sounds compared to a song that is very similar. It may also entail how the video is shot depending on what angles the shots are taken from, they may have similar narratives to other videos that they may have took inspiration from. Intertextuality has become quite common and sometimes lead to legal cases of bands and artists suing other bands or artists on copyright grounds due to copying or stealing of material such as songs graphics and general ideas that they may have used as an influence and the original artist may have taken ...
