Autuer Definiton

The definition of an Auteur director is a director who follows a certain theme and express their feelings in their film or music videos.

This theory is of french decent and dates back to the nineteen fourties when film first started coming into play as the big screen was getting bigger.  The definition of autuer is a film director who influences their films so much that they rank as their author

Examples of renouned autuer directors are the two huge directors Alfred Hitchcock, creator of the first huge horror film, Psycho. The other most famous director is Stanley Kubrick, creator of timeless classics like Full Metal Jacket, Clockwork Orange and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

They are renouned as all of their films have the same feel and go about everything in the same way . Most films have the same themes and nature about them and are always shot in a similar way. For example, Stanley Cubricks Clockwork Orange and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest have have a theme of insanity and madness about them. Whereas a none auteur director such as Steven Spielberg make films that are at random such as Jaws and ET, two completely different style of film. Therefore Stanley stands out as the auteur director because of his ongoing themes.
